Why the Armchair Quarterback Needs a Massage

Muscles are tense, heart rate is elevated, and you can practically feel the stress pumping through your veins. You find yourself yelling cheers and frustrated banter about the game right in front of your eyes. Heck, your hands are even a little clammy. Watching the clock, you're hoping the Saskatchewan Roughriders can pull off a win! You happen to be in your living room, with quite the selection of snacks and drink, in your special chair. Canadian football can be quite the sport! As a devote Saskatchewan Roughriders fan, multiply that stress by a mere hundred if the game happens to get a little too close for comfort. Although it's true, the excitement and breathtaking moments are a part of what makes watching football so exciting to watch. No matter what situation your in, your body's response to stress is still the same.

One great way to combat those awful effects of stress (Roughrider game-induced or not,) is to book a massage therapy appointment, stat. Multiple studies have concluded that massage will help lower the hormone, cortisol, which will reduce the mental effects that stress and tension hold. Also you know that spot that seems to get all kinked when you're stressed? Those muscles just need some TLC! Be sure to let me know if any spots are particular sore.

Also massage therapy can raise the level of dopamine and serotonin, your feel good hormones, which can come in handy when the opposite of what we want to happen in our games, happens. Treat yourself before the next game, you won't regret it.
