For many, the summer holiday is the highlight of their summer. Spending some much needed time with loved ones, visited places new to you. Whether you're on some backwoods adventure or sitting on a beach – it can be the most relaxing time of the year. Surprisingly the amount of stress some feel is outstanding. There's the planning, packing, making sure travel plans work for you, there is so much that goes into taking a vacation. Depending on who you are travelling with determines a lot too. If you have kids that come along, that stress may increase. If this is the case for you, I have three tips for you!
Take a minute, take a moment to breathe:
The key to this is slow down. You are on vacation after all, just slow down and relax. Anytime you feel like reaching for the to-do list, check yourself, and take a deep breath or two.
Plan to do nothing:
Rather than think about the should and must do's, remind yourself you are on holiday. Doing nothing is what you had dreamt of doing while you were at work all those days.
Do what you love:
After all, it is your vacation. Might as well do what you love. If you love spending time solely on the beach, then do it, you deserve it! The satisfaction of getting to do what you enjoy will also decrease the stress in your life!
