Over time, certain patterns have started to emerge in my practice—some routine, some unique, and some even a bit humorous! So, I’ve put together a list of 11 key points that will help you make the most of your massage experience:
1. Please Be On Time.
I want to dedicate your entire scheduled time to your treatment. Since I often have another client right after you, I may not be able to extend your session if you’re late. Let’s make the most of your time together!
2. I Don’t Care About Stubble.
Seriously! I promise, I couldn’t care less about leg hair, and I’m certainly not going to freak out about it. As long as you’re reasonably clean, we’re good to go. Hair has no effect on the treatment—if it did, that’s what the oil and lotion are for.
3. Talking Is Optional.
Feel free to talk during your massage if it helps you relax, but don’t feel obligated to. If zoning out helps you unwind, that’s perfect too. It’s your time, so do whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
4. Your Glutes Are Just Muscles.
Really! If you have lower back pain, your glutes may be involved, and working on them can help. I can work with the sheet covering you if that makes you more comfortable—just let me know what you prefer.
5. No Unnecessary Nudity, Please.
For the love of all that is holy, please stay covered! I’m trained to drape you properly to ensure both your modesty and mine. Just because I’m okay with working on certain areas, like your glutes, doesn’t mean I want to see more than necessary.
6. I Know My Anatomy—Feel Free to Ask Questions!
I’ve spent years studying anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, and ethics. If I slip into technical terms, don’t hesitate to ask what I mean. For example, if I mention your "medial malleolus," (that’s the inside ankle bone), feel free to ask for clarification. I’m here to help!
7. Let Me Know About Pressure Preferences.
Please tell me if you’d like more or less pressure—I won’t be offended. In fact, I love feedback because it helps me tailor the experience to exactly what you need. It’s all about your comfort.
8. Yes, the Sheets Are Clean.
I use fresh, clean sheets for every client. Always.
9. Tipping Is Optional.
While tips are appreciated, they’re never expected. Your relief and relaxation after the session is all the appreciation I need.
10. I Love Referrals!
If you’re happy with your experience, please spread the word! Referrals are one of the best compliments you can give me. Well that and reviews! LOL.
11. Enjoy Your Massage!
At the end of the day, your massage is about you. Relax, breathe, and enjoy.
