February Check-In

Ah, February. The month where we all collectively look around and say, “Okay… how is it still winter?” It’s that in-between place—past the excitement of the New Year, not quite at the hopeful stretch of spring. And every year around this time, I start seeing the same patterns walk into my treatment room: stiff necks, grumpy shoulders, low backs that have had enough, and clients who feel like they’ve been running on 60% battery for a little too long.

If that sounds familiar, you’re definitely not alone.

Your Body Has Been Working Harder Than You Think

Between the cold, the shovelling, the hunching, and the “I swear I’m not stressed, just… tired,” February takes a toll. Our bodies don’t always ask for support with a loud alarm—most of the time, it’s a quiet whisper. A tug. A tightness. A little discomfort you notice when you roll out of bed or try to turn your head while driving. A few things I see all the time this month:

  • Shoulders that have slowly migrated up toward the ears

  • Jaw tension from clenching against the cold

  • Hips and low backs protesting all the extra sitting

  • Headaches from winter darkness + screen time

  • That heavy, sluggish winter feeling

February Is the Perfect Time for a “Reset Massage”

Not a dramatic overhaul. Not a massive New Year transformation. Just a reset—something gentle, grounding, and supportive. This is the season where your body benefits most from a little extra care. I always say: don’t wait until something is screaming. Respond when it whispers.

A winter reset massage can:

  • Ease muscle tension that’s been building slowly

  • Help restore mobility so you don’t feel “stuck”

  • Support circulation when everything feels colder and tighter

  • Calm your nervous system so you can breathe a little deeper

  • Give your body that “oh… that’s what relaxed feels like” moment

Small Wins Count—Especially Right Now

This is your reminder that you don’t need a perfect routine to take care of yourself. Some days the win is drinking water. Some days it’s stretching for two minutes before bed. And some days it’s booking the massage your body has been hinting at for weeks.

Tiny, consistent acts of care will carry you through winter far better than trying to push through on autopilot.

A Little February Love (for You)

We talk a lot about February as a month of love, but honestly? Self-support is the foundation of everything. When you feel good in your body, everything else feels a little easier, a little lighter, a little more doable.

So if your body has been giving you that nudge—whether a quiet whisper or a full-on “hello, help please”—this is your sign. I’m here, my table is warm, and I’d love to help you feel more at ease as we inch closer to spring.

Let’s make February feel a little softer this year. Can't wait to see you soon!
