ALL ABOUT: Fire & Ice Stone Massage

What is a fire & ice stone massage?

A fire & ice massage is a therapy that alternates between heated and chilled stones, hence the name. The hot stones relax muscles, improve circulation, and reduce tension, while the cold stones reduce inflammation, soothe soreness, and relieve pain. This combination enhances the therapeutic effects of the massage.

Heated stones are placed on the body or used to massage muscles, promoting relaxation and increasing blood flow. Cold stones are then applied to reduce inflammation, calm the body, and decrease swelling. The alternating temperatures stimulate circulation and promote healing.

No, this shouldn't be a painful appointment, but if you are uncomfortable at any time, please let me know.

Same as what you would wear for any other massage therapy appointment.

The temperature used in massage will depend on your tolerance. The temperature of the hot stones can range from 43°C to 54°C (110°F to 130°F). The goal is to heat the stones enough to be effective without causing any discomfort or harm. If it feels too hot, please tell me ASAP.

Cold stones are kept as cold as ice but defrost quickly when placed on your skin. The goal is to draw the heat from your body to reduce inflammation and pain without causing discomfort the way ice can to bare skin. Your registered massage therapist will monitor your comfort level throughout the process and make adjustments when needed.
